Path completed

The sun is out and the course is filled with golfers. What else could we ask for. Carts!!!! yes carts will be let out tomorrow,  Monday April 30 Th.. We are dry enough to let carts out but please watch out for bad spots. Hole 2 in the valley is still wet. Hole 3, going down the valley may be a little slick.  Hole 7 going down the hill on the right side where the white tees are usually at, very wet stay away from that area. There might even still be snow on the hill. On the back nine stay on the cart paths as long as you can. The hill on 12 is still very wet, that area is still a free drop.  Holes 15  stay out of the area to the right. Its always wet in that area. Hole 16 is in good shape and dry. I will be putting up rope around greens and other areas where we don't want carts to go. If you have a handicap flag you are allowed to enter these areas,  but please don't park on the collars or on any part of the greens. If you have other people playing in your group ...

Here we go again

Well as I look out the window all I see is snow and more snow. Things have to change soon, I believe we all are going stir crazy . As I was looking at some of my summer photos from the golf course I thought lets make a movie video and try to get everyone out of this funk we are in. Below you will see the link and just click on it. It's about 7 minutes long but hopefully it will cheer you up. Talk to you soon........ Dave

April snow

This is going to be a very short post. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. April showers bring May flowers. Someone better tell Mother Nature theres  a difference between rain and snow. Take Care .. Dave

Golf course conditions

If your like me your sick of this cold weather. It looks like this coming week isn’t going to get any warmer. As a good friend I mine told me “ just roll with it” So that’s what I’m going to do, “roll with it”. There’s nothing anyone can do to change the weather. Even with these cool days I’ve been able to get out and blow off the debris on the front nine greens. Some of the greens still have snow on them.  The greens on the front nine came out of the winter pretty good. Some of the greens have vole damage on the collars and banks. They will heal up but it will take some time. Still  not sure  when we will open, still thinking around the 10th or 15 of April or later. Below I took some pictures of the course. Some show the damage the voles did and the others are pictures of the snow left on the course and pictures of where some trees where taken down.. Happy Easter 😊😊😊 Dave

Mayo Girls Golf Team

Image
What a great day. The sun was out which was nice. The Mayo Girls Golf Team and Coach Myhro came out and finished raking up the rest of the branches from the trees we took down this winter and they raked up the pine cones around the big practice green and the chipping green.. Let me tell you something, these gals are workers. They came with rakes and gloves and away they went. They never wondered off and they worked as a team. Coach Myhro worked right beside them. The girls had music playing, when taking a break they where playing duck duck grey duck .  Everything they did was as a team. I was so impressed with that. Coach Myhro and his assistants have this program going in the right direction. Below I have some pictures of the girls working and taking a team break. Thanks again girls I really appreciate everything you do for me. Have a great season!!!!

Snow snow

It was a beautiful day but we still have a lot of snow on the course. I would like to thank the Mayo boys  High School golf team and there coach for coming out to Eastwood and picking up brush in the woods today, It was greatly appreciated.  On a side note with the course getting close to opening please don’t walk or train your dogs on the golf course. There’s frost in the morning and with you walking on the grass your killing it. We are a golf course not a dog park. So please respect our golf course by keeping your dogs off the golf course. Thank you. Dave
