The sun is out and the course is filled with golfers. What else could we ask for. Carts!!!! yes carts will be let out tomorrow,  Monday April 30 Th.. We are dry enough to let carts out but please watch out for bad spots. Hole 2 in the valley is still wet. Hole 3, going down the valley may be a little slick.  Hole 7 going down the hill on the right side where the white tees are usually at, very wet stay away from that area. There might even still be snow on the hill. On the back nine stay on the cart paths as long as you can. The hill on 12 is still very wet, that area is still a free drop.  Holes 15  stay out of the area to the right. Its always wet in that area. Hole 16 is in good shape and dry. I will be putting up rope around greens and other areas where we don't want carts to go. If you have a handicap flag you are allowed to enter these areas,  but please don't park on the collars or on any part of the greens. If you have other people playing in your group and they have carts they are not allowed to follow you into these restricted areas.  Please remind them of that. Respect the course, theres reasons why we put rope and cart signs up.  Also respect the carts. There not bumper cars,  there not meant to run into trees and most of all there not meant to drive on the greens and tee boxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday there was a new exit path put in on hole 12.  If you remember this area has been washed out for a very long time. Our landscape guru Shorty came up with a plan and we hammered it out yesterday.  I would like to thank Shorty and Joe Jenkins for all there hard work yesterday.  Also thank you Shorty for bringing in the proper equipment so we could get this project done. Stumps Dirt Seed

The title pretty much describes what we have been doing when its not raining.  We have most of the new stumps filled and seeded. We still have some from last year to fill in and seed yet.  I have put small flags in the middle of the dirt so they don't get stepped on or so carts don't drive over them. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will be filling in some bad spots with dirt and seed. There's so many spots to fill in that I can't name all the holes they are on. The really bad spots will be roped off . Please do your best to stay out of these areas. This coming week we have two high school tournaments. Tuesday we have an 8 am shot gun start with the girls then at 1:30 the boys have a shot gun start. On Wednesday we have another tournament that starts at one. On Tuesday we are hoping to start staining the club house deck weather permitting. That's it for now enjoy your day...... Brudy

Looks like the rain is going to give us a break for a few days. Just a quick update on what we are up to these days other than the daily maintenance of the golf course. Right now we are edging the bunkers. We aren’t making them any bigger. The edges are all cut we just need to clean them up and push the sand back up. On holes 15 and 16 where the brush was cut out Joe took the York Rake and cleaned all the brush up and is tearing the stumps out . These areas look really good. Please keep your carts out of these areas . On the list also is to finish staining the clubhouse deck. There’s many things to do and we will do as much as we can before the kids head back to school. Where did my ball go ???

It’s been a few weeks that I haven’t written so I thought I would touch base with everyone and tell you what’s happening at Eastwood. My staff has started painting the clubhouse deck. When we get another nice day we will finish it up. The new white tee on hole 15 is just about ready to open. I believe we are a week out then we will open it. We are preparing for a busy week. On Monday we have a special event for the 18 hole ladies. On Wednesday we have an Mga tournament that starts at 7:30 am. On Thursday we have a special event for the 9 hole ladies. We have been preparing the golf course since last week to get ready for these events. It takes a lot of work to get ready for 3 events in one week. I’m very proud of my staff and they have excepted the challenge and there doing a great job. I’ve been hearing a lot of comments about why is the rough so long and that’s where I got my title from.
