Spilt rail fence

Today the men's club added more fencing to holes 12, 17, and put up a new fence by the back tee on hole 16. The reason the fences are going up is to keep carts out of these areas. Hole 12 and 17 are handicap accessible also. I'm so proud of our men's club. When improvements need to be done to  the course they take it upon themselves to get it done.  They meet and talk about the project and make a game plan. It's a real team effert . It's just amazing to watch them work and get things done. Thanks again guys. I appreciate everything you do !!!
I also wanted to give you an update on the eagle project that is going on.  The retaining wall is up and dirt was added. I'm hoping in the next few weeks the plants will be planted.  Sam Panetta is the scout that is doing this project . He will earn his eagle badge for this project. Our men's and ladies club have helped out and purchased the retaining wall blocks. Sam raised 250.00 dollars for the plants and other material he needs to finish this project . He had a plant sale to raise these funds. We are all excited to see how this project turns out. Stumps Dirt Seed

The title pretty much describes what we have been doing when its not raining.  We have most of the new stumps filled and seeded. We still have some from last year to fill in and seed yet.  I have put small flags in the middle of the dirt so they don't get stepped on or so carts don't drive over them. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will be filling in some bad spots with dirt and seed. There's so many spots to fill in that I can't name all the holes they are on. The really bad spots will be roped off . Please do your best to stay out of these areas. This coming week we have two high school tournaments. Tuesday we have an 8 am shot gun start with the girls then at 1:30 the boys have a shot gun start. On Wednesday we have another tournament that starts at one. On Tuesday we are hoping to start staining the club house deck weather permitting. That's it for now enjoy your day...... Brudy

Looks like the rain is going to give us a break for a few days. Just a quick update on what we are up to these days other than the daily maintenance of the golf course. Right now we are edging the bunkers. We aren’t making them any bigger. The edges are all cut we just need to clean them up and push the sand back up. On holes 15 and 16 where the brush was cut out Joe took the York Rake and cleaned all the brush up and is tearing the stumps out . These areas look really good. Please keep your carts out of these areas . On the list also is to finish staining the clubhouse deck. There’s many things to do and we will do as much as we can before the kids head back to school. Course clean up

Has anybody noticed all the pine cones at the golf course this year? Its unbelievable !!!! I blow off a fairway the next day it looks like the pine cones held a party and they invited all there friends. I've never seen anything like this. Well I called in the Calvary to give me a helping hand. Steve Myhro the girls head golf coach at Mayo High School arranged to get his team of girls to give me a hand. They came armed with rakes and they went to town. It was something to see all those girls working as a team to make Eastwood a better place. The story gets better. Mayo and Century boys golf team showed up also. I took the Mayo boys over to hole 11 and we picked up all the garbage on the right and left side of that hole. Then we picked up more garbage around the pond of hole 11. As we were driving back to the front side of the golf course I asked the Mayo boys to take over raking for the gals.
